More Tea Time

* click to enlarge *

Here is 'Tea Time (warm)', the second in the collection. I'm really happy with the way these turned out!

I have uploaded this one to Spoonflower, however, even after my best attempts at colour balancing, I could not get it to look right. I'll try again soon!

First Pattern!

I just finished my first successful pattern design! It is called Tea Time (cool). I will also be creating a version of this pattern using a warm colour palette. I have been having some trouble with colour calibration, but Tea Time should be up on Spoonflower *hopefully* soon!

Logo Logo Logo

I'm working on some logos for my friends' fitness company, and it is lots of fun! I just finished two pages of comps for them and I can't wait to hear their reactions. It is fun creating this kind of a brand because it is a little out of my comfort zone (in regards to fitness/exercise) but it is also very female oriented, which I am definitely into. Lots of purple! Here's a small peek of one of my ideas.

Unconventional Party Invitation

I was asked to do an invitation for my step-grandmother's moving out party. They wanted to call her, instead of a senior citizen, a 'super citizen' so I came up with this sketch:

Which, that evening, turned into this final piece! I'd have to say this was my fastest creation yet. Click the photo to enlarge!

What I Wore!

Here are a couple quick illustrations I did of my outfits this past weekend! I'm working on colouring them, however I thought I'd post these because I enjoy the look of the plain pencil sketches. Click to enlarge!

Inspiration: A New Book!

I visited the wonderful store Anthropologie today and picked up this book called 'Soil Mates' for a steal ($8.35). I am planning on starting a veggie garden next spring so it is useful in that regard, but moreso this book is so impeccably designed that I can't get enough! I love the illustrations, the layout, the font, and the actual information too. It is cute and quirky, designed just to my liking. It has also given me some ideas for the cookbook I have started working on for my mother for Christmas.

If you like gardening, romance, or just visually pleasing books, I would recommend this one.

New Start!

Welcome to my new blog, Wildflower, by me, Hannah Bee!

This blog marks the real beginnings of change in my life. Things have been looking up lately, and today especially, so it felt fitting for me to begin this new blog today.

Firstly, I am on the beginning stages of my personal website and doing away with the old tumblr one (one could hardly call that a professional website!) where I can showcase my work and add some cute little bits and bobs along the way. Taking a web design continuing education class to brush up on my HTML is the first step, and the first class (yesterday) proved I've still retained information from last year!

Secondly, I have 2 clients lined up for websites (one underway already) and just received another one an hour ago! She is my good friend and I can't wait to help her out by giving her small business a cozy space on the interweb.

And thirdly, I received a call from my old high school art teacher saying that he would like to have me come in and help around the classroom and learn a bit about becoming a teacher (I want to explore all options!) I believe I will be helping out with his media arts class, as well as regular arts, which is wonderful because I learned a lot of it at Ryerson and can offer help to students. I'm meeting with him tomorrow to discuss all the details and make it 100%. I am very excited!

I would usually be attending my first week of school this week, however now that I am done school and not returning this fall (not since kindergarten - how strange!) I am happy to have all these options available, and I hope they all work out. I can't wait to see where life takes me this year! And this blog will follow me through it. I will be using Wildflower as a place to muse, collect my thoughts, share my inspiration, post my works in progress, upload little doodles, and showcase my finished pieces.

I'm just itching with inspiration after visiting Anthropologie today and seeing so many lovely books, I need to go create something!
